Education for younger generations is important to develop future biomedical field in Japan. To attract them to the field, we conducted a hands-on external lecture on brain-machine interface (BMI), a communication interface using brain signals. The seminar contained a cartoon that introduced how to decide a research topic for the first time, a hands-on seminar to attach electroencephalography electrodes to staffs, spelling letters, and demonstrations of controlling a grasping robot and an autonomous driving robot via the BMI. This paper is to clarify how this hands-on external lecture was effective for participants based on questionnaires. As a result, 36 people participated in the seminar, including students in kindergarten, elementary school, and junior high-school, and their parents. About 80% of participants satisfied with the seminar. Especially the demonstration of an autonomous robot control using BMI was most attractive of all. The response of participants implied that this seminar give opportunity to touch the biomedical field and to think about their own future.
