In this study, we surveyed four students who participated in face-to-face training (2018), online training (2020 and 2021), all PBL training conducted at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. A rubric assessment, semi-structured interviews, and verbal data collection were conducted in order to conduct qualitative data analysis. The advantages of working online were that participants could spend their time freely and concentrate on their work. Also, due to not having to travel overseas, the participants did not feel tired. Future PBL will also proceed with a hybrid of online and face-to-face. Both methods have advantages and problems, but we would like to make use of the advantages of both and connect them to better PBL in the future.
