Abstract
Structural mechanics is one of the subjects which college students find difficulty in grasping the required concepts. In order to help the students grasp these concepts, a computer simulation program was developed. the software shows deflection curves, and shear and bending moment diagrams for various types of beams and rigid frames under some loading conditions which the students select by answering the computer's questions. By observing the curves and diagrams, students can learn some aspects of structural mechanics more effectively than using physical models. It was observed that the students willingly used the software after providing it for their use.
