Abstract
In the Faculty of Engineering at Tamagawa University, "Practice of Machining Operation" has been given to the students in the model machining shop belonged to the faculty. Practice of Machining Operation is composed of two steps. The purpose of the first step is to make students to feel the satisfaction and delights of making things, to find out the variation in the performance which give influence on the quality and the factors affecting the cost of products, and to know the importance of conciousness of safety, through producing a small vice.
In the second step, the practice of production management that we attach the importance to the production management function is executed in order to make students to recognize the necessity of overall planning and control. In this paper, the contents of the practice, the evaluation method, and the points of instruction and control for effective Practice are reported.
