We developed a learning support system to introduce problem-solving through performing inter-active experiments and practice into the traditional style of classroom teaching. This developed system includes learning material related to creating wind turbines for educational use ; it comprises wind turbine knowledge, theories, phenomena, and a database. To assess this system, we taught students based on the teaching program in which students constructed wind turbines and evaluated their performance. Next, they learned through this developed system. They constructed a second generation of wind turbines utilizing the knowledge and theories learned through this system. Finally, they evaluated the wind turbines' performance. This system was assessed through students' appraisals and the performance and shape characteristics of resultant wind turbines. Students showed a deep understanding of wind turbines and improved the wind turbines' performance and shape. These results clarified that this learning support system is an effective teaching material for problem-solving learning.
