Abstract
To clarify the mechanism of the electric discharge machining, it is necessary to investigate the location of discharge energy at the point of the electric discharge and the mutual action of the energy.
This report presents explanation of the basic patterns of applying a source of heat in an electric discharge machining.
Our hypothesis is that the time after the electric discharge as well as the discharge time has a significant role in the depth of melted work and the Working volume, This will be very important in the future synthetic study of the mechanism of the electric discharge machining.
Our coming _report will deal with heat transfer from the surface of the work, mutual action between the melted work and the gas pressure, and some examples of the experiments.
