It is important to remove sand particles deposited on PV modules installed in arid lands. We have proposed that electric field curtain (EFC) embedded in the module cover glass is effective for this purpose because EFC consume little electric power and does not use water. We assemble relatively large-size EFC cover glass by using transparent conductive PET film. We measured the I-V characteristics of a PV module having this EFC cover glass. It is shown that EFC is effective to prevent the decrease of generated power. Also, it is shown that grounded electrode placed between EFC and PV cells decrease the effect of the travelling electric field on the cover glass.
