P5　Indoor Climate Design of “Orangutan and Borneo Forest” at Sapporo Maruyama Zoo

Abstract

This study describes the interior climate design of the zoo house “Orangutan and Borneo Forest” opened at the Sapporo Maruyama Zoo. The building form is RC with exterior insulation, the heating system is radiant panel and column heating, and the ventilation system is a displacement ventilation system with ground tubes to introduce outside air. Top lights, natural lighting, and intermittent watering were installed to allow for the growth of in-ground plantings indoors.
