The survey was conducted to study the influence of welsh-onion peeling machine on human health. The surveyed area was located in Kogane, Matudoshi, Chiba. The survey has two main points; 1) health condition of almost farmers using peeling machine in this area, 2) life and health condition in a day (during 24hr) of typical farmer using peeling machine in this area, - his life condition, the noise level that he suffered from peeling machine, his hearing power and the degree of his fatigue with work.
The results are as follows;
1) The users of machine were suffered from excess grease in blood, corpulence, anemia, liver trouble and abnormal blood pressure. This finding is in agreement with the result of 1st report. Of the suffered users, 24.7% need to be re-examined, and 50.6% should receive simple treatments, Based on the CMI survey methods, 30% were suffered from nervous disease.
The causes for anemia and corpulence were an unbalanced diet and eating excess sweet snack.
About 40.0% had hearing problem, particularly for 4000Hz frequency. Most of them had the problem for the sense of equilibrium. About 1% reduced their hearing power during 3 years.
The use of ear-plug or ear-muff produce stress.
2) The subject was using peeling machine for about 4.5hr in a day. Its machine produced intermittent noise and the noise level was above 100dB (A). The total time that he was exposed to the noise (above 100dB (A)) was about 1.5hr.
The noise level in the 40m distant place from its machine was about 60dB (A).
His fatigue condition didn't almost change during the day.
