Abstract
We have previously developed large tactile play equipment and ride-on play equipment in the form of a sphericon and a hexasphericon, which are solid geometric objects based on even-numbered regular polygons that maintain their center of gravity at the same level when in motion. More recently, we have focused on objects based on odd-numbered regular polygons that also maintain their center of gravity, and are advancing the study towards the development of play equipment with a reciprocating motion. In our previous study, we developed reciprocating tactile play equipment based on equilateral-triangular objects. Here, we examine the structure of a regular pentagonal sphericon and present two types of tactile educational play equipment that we have developed.
