Abstract
A study of smartphone displays, used in a museum support website, to produce pictograms of high quality legibility and intelligibility. The first goal was to produce high quality pictograms on smartphones that had figure thicknesses which improved the legibility and intelligibility. The second goal was to produce a museum support website for smartphones using pictograms of figure thicknesses indicated by the results of the experiments. The effectiveness of this website was verified through further experimentation at the museum. The results indicate that thin figures were ranked higher in terms of legibility and intelligibility.
