Abstract
Technical achievements and innovations in the electronic industry during the last 20 years have resulted in the high information society. In this society, various computers are widely used as the information processing systems at all of the fields. The present age demands the graphical processing education by using the computer. Up to this time, the suitable and reliable graphics softwares for the education are lacking.
In the light of these facts, the Graphical Information Processing System (GIPS) has been developed in order to execute the graphics science education adapted to needs of the times. GIPS is designed so as to master principles and techniques for the Computer Graphics (CG) in short times. The trial education is enforced by using GIPS for the freshman of the College of Engineering at the University of Osaka Prefecture in 1987.
From this trial education, the attractive figures with various techniques concerning the two and three dimensional CG were obtained. It was clearly found that the majority of students understood the principles and techniques on CG. The present report describes as follows :
1. the contents of GIPS
2. the method of education on graphics sciences
3. the results of the trial education
