Abstract
We are developing rainfall generating (simulation) procedure for river planning. Lovejoy and Scertzer have developed multifractal theory which is quite appropriate for rainfall simulation. First, we evaluated three parameters of multifractal (universal) model, alpha, C1 and H, and generated spatial rainfall field which corresponds to one hour rainfall. Secondly, we derived mean and maximum rainfall and quantile whose return pperiod is 11.5 years at each 256 x 256 point. As a result, although we have to consider parameters more, we could show that this method is appropriate for rainfall simulation from the view point of river planning.
