Abstract
The characteristic of Wavelet Transform, WT, WT is determined by its basic function, called mother wavelet or analyzing wavelet, AW. Therefore, the selection of AW is very important. In this study, a WT which makes use of envelope soliton solution as its AW is proposed. The function describes the solution of nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation which represents the behavior of envelope soliton. The interaction between simulated two envelope solitons is analyzed applying the new AW. Then, results obtained from the WT with the function as AW are compared with those from the WT with Gabor function. It is proved that the application of the new AW is very useful for the WT analysis of envelope soliton interaction.
