Abstract
The stream of a pedestrian crowd is analyzed numerically by solving the Navier-Stokes equations of compressible viscous fluid flows. The equations are solved by the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method, and a particle corresponds to a pedestrian. New numerical techniques are proposed for introducing the effect of eyesight of a human and for guiding pedestrians to a goal. Those proposed techniques are verified through several numerical examples. Encouraging results are obtained.
