In this study, we developed a crossroads for administrative staff to examine their attitudes toward disaster prevention in order to contribute to the improvement of school safety. In the crossroads, the administrative staff tended to prioritize their duties over their families in the event of a disaster. However, even when they gave priority to their duties, they assumed that they would be able to contact their families. They also understood the necessity of being involved in the management of evacuation centers in the event of a disaster. The results of this study indicate that it is possible to improve school safety through collaboration between teachers and administrative staff who are responsible for school practices. On the other hand, given that administrative staff are required to proactively and actively participate in the management of school affairs due to the revision of the School Education Law in 2017, the proactive and active participation of administrative staff in school safety is also considered necessary and important.
