Toward the Realization of a Sharing Infrastructure for the Inheritance of Local Cultural Data

Abstract

Japan is home to a diverse range of cultural properties, which are valuable cultural resources. However, a cross-regional data-sharing infrastructure that will serve as a core for sustainable inheritance has not yet been developed for the medium- to long-term collection, preservation, and publication of regional material data that record information on these materials. This paper outlines the basic concept of an information infrastructure for the secure inheritance of regional resource data.
