Abstract
To identify the most crucial factor for taking a leading part in the global competition, the key industries are analyzed based on the market share and core capabilities. Semi-conductor manufacturers are gaining a lot of attention from many industries, because a Chinese catch-up has overwhelmed many leading countries. The essential element of transition of leading players in the major industries is explained by the dynamics of center–periphery relationships with hegemons in strategic space. It is demonstrated that the resource constrain of leading players gets into the revenge form success and hence replaces successive hegemonies by partners separated by sea.
