Looking back on 40 years of involvement in medical informatics and hospital management. It was my greatest pleasure to be able to build an electronic medical record system of Nagoya University Hospital in 2002. The realization of one medical record for a lifetime is an issue. In hospital management, the main purpose is to increase the value of hospitals. To perform this purpose, it is important to recognize the gap between the current situation and what it should be. The behavior changes to do the effort to reduce the gap are important. This practice can increase the value of the hospital.
