Abstract
This report presents and discusses the results of data analysis conducted as part of the survey “Understanding the Realities of Online Classes during COVID-19.” It examines both lecture-only classes and case studies of students actually operating PCs. Both quantitative numerical data as well as textual data were analyzed in this study. Along with supporting the results of the traditional analysis of numerical data, the addition of textual data to the analysis also had the effect of identifying often-buried opinions by picking up keywords of further interest. The survey revealed that online classes during COVID-19 are not merely a stopgap measure, but a gateway to the digital transformation (DX) of education. As we return to a post-pandemic normal, rather than simply returning to the conventional face-to-face format of classes, there is a need to consider that we have entered a new era of university education and devise ways to utilize highly flexible methods of conducting classes.
