This study aims to identify the challenges faced by Japanese companies in implementing the Triangular Support System for Promoting Cancer Treatment and Employment, as proposed by the government. A qualitative approach was adopted, involving semi-structured interviews with HR officers from seven Japanese companies to examine this issue. The findings indicate that companies are not prepared enough to adopt the system due to limited awareness regarding its existence and insufficient internal mechanisms for its implementation. The Triangular Support System has the potential to benefit companies and cancer survivor employees, and is expected to enhance current HR practices within organizations.
