We examined the results of 24 bipolar femoral endoprosthetic operations on 22 middleage patients with advanced hip osteoarthritis. Our method of acetabular bone grafting without any screws and pins for acetabular displasia had been used.
The mean JOA score was improved from preoperative 53.5 to postoperative 80.4. The improvement of pain score was especially remarkable, and the increase of hip ROM was acceptable.
X-ray measurement made 1 year postoperatively showed that 60% of the patients had central migration, but it was not visible with the naked eye. No distal migration was seen.
