Abstract
Alpine skiing is one of the most popular winter sports, in spite of the high risk of injury. There are however, only a few studies that have examined the risk of injury of competitive skiers, especially of the Masters ski(MS) participant. The aim was to study the characteristics of ski injury by questionnaire survey for MS participants who registered with Ski Association of Japan. 413( 345 men, 68 female) respondents were obtained( effective response rate is 57.6%). MS participantʼs ski injury rate was 75%, and there was no difference depending on gender / age, and it was the same level as the World Cup racers. In addition, the frequent occurrence of ski injury was similar to previous studies that lower limbs occupy 60% of the total. However, female MS participants had a higher incidence of knee ski injures than men. In addition, MS participants had a higher incidence of fractures at the same level as ligament injury.
