Seasonal dynamics of phytoplankton assemblages were investigated at the deepest site in the north basin of Lake Biwa, from January to December 2002. Phytoplankton abundance, nutrients concentrations, grazing impact and sedimentation were examined with frequent samplings and field experiments.
