Abstract
We treated solar koratosis(cornu cutaneum and pigmentation type) of the cheek in a 82-year-old woman, recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of the temple in 101-year-old woman and primary squamous cell carcinoma of the cervical adjoining atrophic scar in a 88-year-old man with the carbon dioxide laser therapy. The cornu cutaneum in the case 1 was excised from the stem lesion with the focused beam (laser knife) and vaporized the bottom of the tumor with the defocused beam. The pigmentation in the case 1 was abraded with the defocused beam superpulsed repeat mode. The squamous cell carcinoma in the case 2 and 3 were excised from the stem lesion with the focused beam and vaporized the bottom of the tumor with the defocused beam. These three cases are good course after laser treatment and they are satisfied with the good cosmetic results. These results indicated that carbon dioxide laser therapy was useful in the treatment of facial and cervical skin tumor in the aged.
