Abstract
Cytogenetic effects of argon laser irradiation were studied on human lymphocytes in terms of sister chromatid exchange. Argon laser irradiation of up to 300 Joule/cm2 caused increase in SCE. The increment was more prominent when G1 lymphocytes were irradiated than GO cells. Slight suppression of the cell cycle progression was observed by laser irradiation. Although precise mechanism is still unclear, possible chromosomal damage relating to the cell division was suspected.
