Abstract
We developed a novel method of hyperthermia by Nd: YAG laser, balloon laserthermia, to heat wide area of the cancerous tissue.
The balloon was attached to the end of laser fiber, and was filled with colloidal liquid, 0.25% Intralipid solution, which scattered laser light. And then, the laser beams were irradiated contacting the balloon with the tissue.
As a result of histopathological study of tumor bearing mice, this method proved to be able to heat and damage more wide area than the conventional laserthermia.
