Abstract
In an attempt to observe the behavior of egg shell membrane of chicken egg in the mechanism of transmission of calcium from egg shell to chicken embryo, the authors investigated the influence of egg shell membrane extract on the calcium content of rabbit serum as the first step. As the result, it was proved that, despite the increase of incubation period of thee fertilized egg, calcium content of the rabbit serum is not influenced by the egg shell membrane extract, either heated or unheated.
