Comparative investigations were performed hematologically, pathologico-histologically and enzymotic chemically on the toxicity of nitroacetanilide and acetanilide to obtain the the following results.
Spleen or its extract acts upon nitroacetanilide and acetanilide as antidote to certain extent. Especially, it clearly, though slightly, inhibits the decrease of erythrocytes (anemia), and also reduces pathologico-histological changes in spleen among various organs. Gontrafy to this, no inhibitory activity is noticed toward hepatic disturbances. In the hepatic disturbances (albuminoid degeneration of hepatic cells of slight or moderate degree) induced by nitroacetanilide or acetanilide within the range of the dosis which the author applied, no remarkable influences were observed on the proteolytic enzyme of liver.
