Abstract
A case, principally complaining of induration in the upper abdomen, and later, complaining of pain in the same site and fever, was admitted in the Hospital. Laparotomy was performed with the suspicion on liver abscess and suppurative lesions involving liver, thereby a tumour of liver was recognized. The case became fatal 10 days after the operation. A post mortem examination revealed the presence of cholangitis, multiple liver abscess and necrotic lesions in the liver in addition to hepatora. Referring to the microstopical findings, descriptions were made on the natures of the hepatoma. Cases of multiple necrotic lesion in liver is relatively infrequent in number, therefore, the case was considered to be of great interest specifically in the point that it was accompanied by hepatoma. The authors considered that this is a case of hepatic abscess due to cholangitis and that, histologically, this is a genuin multiple necrotic lesion of liver.
