The effects of anti-tumor substances on the reproductive ability of the mice, such as the rate of delivery and the rate of foetus rearing have been studied. The following results were obtained.
(1) The rate of delivery was almost the same as control when they were observed for a long time. However, when they were observed for a shorter period (25 days) the group which received Nitromin, Azan, or Carzinophilin showed a low rate of delivery such as 30, 26.7% and 23.3% respectively, and the periods of pregnancy were longer than that of control, such as 34.6 days, 37.1 days and 39 days respectively.
(2) The fewer number and less body-weight foetus were produced when Nitromin or Carzinophilin was administered.
(3) The rate of foetus rearing was 67.6% when Nitromin had been administered while 60.6% when Azan, and 73.6% when Carzinophilin, which were considerably less than that of control.
(4) The low rate of growing was seen in the group which Azan or Carzinophilin was administered.
(5) In one case, foetus found with lacks the right rear paw and subcutaneous bleeding. and in four cases foetus found with subcutaneous bleeding.
