In 117 patientss who visisted our clinic, their staphylines ane intervals of palatal arch in both sides, front and rear were observed before or after tonsillectomy. The postoperative staphylines became shorter average 0.21 cm in length and longer 0.11 cm in basal wideth as compared with the preoperative. The intervals of palatal arch were all lengthened as compared with preoperation. As for difference by sex staphylines had a litte worse defoormity in females than in men, but had no difference in the intervals of palatal arch. By degrees of tonsilar hypertrophy, staphylines showed somewhat worse deformity in the moderate cases cases than in the severe or mild. As for the intervals of palatal arch, the mild cases were not so deformed as the severe or moderate. Deformities of staphylines due to tonsillectomy were divided into six classes.
