1. Minimal identifiable odor (MIO) was surveyed and olfactograms were drawn for 37 cases with nasal disorders. Individuals without nasal disorders show olfactograms of straight horizontal lines, while those with nasal disorders show varying lines which can be divided into. four types. According to the studies, significant correlations were found to exist between the olfactogram and intranasal construction.
2. MIO and olfactogram were in proportion to the intensity of nasal signes, nasal disorders and objective olfactory sense.
3. Statistic observations with to the intranasal construction, nasal signes and nasal disorders were performed on the 21 cases with so-called anosmy for which olfactometry was not applicable.
4. MIO was determined on the 3 cases of chronic sinusitis and on the 3 cases of tonsillitis prior to and after operation, and this method was proved to be benecial for the observation of the effectiveness of operations on olfactory sense.
