1. Loading of Vanillin in a small dose gives no evident influence on the development of chick embryos, while its administration in a large dose shows some growth inhibition from the 15 th day of incubation.
2. Vanillin gives no evident influence on the amount of the allantoic fluid of embryos.
3. Nitrogen content of the allantoic fluid of control eggs shows a remarkable increase on the 12 th day of incubation in contrast to that on the 9 th day and it shows a still more remarkable increase on the 15 th day, while a marked decrease is observed on the 18 th day following the reduce in the amount of the allantoic fluid itself.
Eggs of Vanillin loading show exactly the same changes in the nitrogen content of the allantoic fluid.
4. Loading of Piperonal in a small dose gives a slight growth promoting effect and even its administration in a large dose shows no appreciable growth inhibition.
5. No malformation of embryos is recognized by the loading of Vanillin and Piperonal.
6. The amount of Adrenaline in the adrenal of embryos shows an increase following the advance in the days of incubation.
Loading of Vanillin gives no appreciable influence on the amount of this Adrenaline except that it causes a slight increase on the 15 th to the 18 th day of incubation in contrast to the control.
7. Loading of Piperonal, however, shows an evident increase in the amount of Adrenaline in the adrenal of chick embryos and this tendency becomes stronger when a larger dose is loaded.
