Immunological studies were made on transplantable cancer (Ehrlich ascites cancer) . Results were as follows.:
1) Ehrlich ascites cancer cell was homogenized in a Frenchpress and was centrifuged for 5 min, at 2000 rpm. The alkaline soluble components had the specific antigenicity of Ehrlich ascites cancer cell.
2) In the immuno-fluorescent staining of splenic lymphoid cell of transplantation-resistant mice (resistance was induced by the gradual increasing doses of the implants of cancer cells), specific fluorescence was found in the cytoplasma of the cell. The cancer specific antibody was present in the cytoplasma of splenic lymphoid cell.
3) Adoptive immunity was established by transfer of splenic lymphoid cell.
4) In the sera of rabbits immunized with Ehrlich ascites cancer cells, the cytolytic factors of tumor cell which differed from the antibodies demonstrated using the gel-diffusion technique and the passive hemagglutination test of Boyden.
