Abstract

A questionnaire survey was conducted on local governments that collect product plastics, regarding collection targets, collection methods, collection frequency, foreign matter contamination in collected materials, and examples of troubles at collection sites. As a result, it was found that the method of collecting product plastic in the same bag as containers and packaging plastic and collecting it without specifying the bag at the place where combustible waste is generated is the most collectable method of product plastic. and Many of the foreign objects are mixed with metals, and the cause is that the products are not designed on the assumption that they will be separated, so it is difficult for citizens to separate them. Assuming collection in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture, it was estimated that 102 tons of product plastic could be collected annually, assuming the same collection method as the current collection method for plastic containers and packaging. Since the load on collection and transportation vehicles is expected to increase, it has become clear that caution is required at the start of collection.
