Abstract

The use of one's own bottle will reduce packaging waste and greenhouse gases. While coffee may be available in one's own bottle, package-free sales of japanese tea beverages are rarely found in permanent locations. The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility and promotion of the use of package-free sales of tea beverages by clarifying (1) consumers' evaluation of package-free sales of japanese tea beverages and (2) their selection factors, assuming that drink dispensers are sold at convenience stores. The results of the conjoint analysis showed that, in terms of dispenser functions, the marginal willingness to pay for the ability to adjust the concentration and temperature was the highest at about 36 yen. In addition, the intention to choose one's own bottle the benefit of keeping the bottle cold/warm, and the frequency of using one's own bottle had a direct impact on the choice of one's own bottle. The intention to choose one's own bottle was mainly influenced by the need to refill one's own bottle, the benefits provided by a container that can be kept cold/warm, and the appearance of the bottle, which was evaluated as fashionable.
