In order to reduce the vibration and noise generated by the dehydration state of a drum-type washing machine, a new type of hydraulic mount (HM) for a washing machine is designed in this paper. First, a newly designed physical model with inertia tracks is suggested and analyzed by the finite element method (FEM). Fluid structure interaction (FSI) simulation using the software ADINA is carried out, and the frequency response characteristic of the suggested model is investigated. Then two lumped parameter models (linear model and nonlinear model) for an HM system with inertia tracks are designed and parameters are identified with the help of finite element method. Finally, a multibody dynamic model of a drum-type washing machine including the developed HM is built and analyzed using commercial software ADAMS and MATLAB. The simulation results of a drum-type washing machine with the designed HM showed a good performance compared to a washing machine model with conventional dampers.
