An elastic and transparent small arterial branch model of Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was prepared from PVA dimethylsulfoxide/water solution by repetitive cooling method. The distributions of velocity profiles and wall shear stress in the model tube in steady flow have been experimentally studied at five different Reynolds number (1.5 to 250). Monodisperse polystyrene particles were used as a tracer of fluid flow and the flow was observed by a CCD camera under a microscope. Both the particle tracking and particle image deformation methods have been used to measure the individual particle velocity in micron scale accuracy. When flow profiles in model tube were studied in detail, it was found that the velocity profiles and WSS in parent and daughter tube highly depend on Reynolds number.
