In Daikin Industries, we are developing and applying the simulation technology that was accumulated in the air-conditioning and refrigerator development to the field of fluorine chemistry. It is found that the effect of the use of the simulation technology is obtained remarkably in the following areas of fluorine chemical products, i.e. 1) Mechanical elucidation of the physical phenomena 2) New applications development based on the patenting of the optimum structure 3) Improvement of the product appeal by the quality stabilization 4) Trust acquisition of the customers. In this paper, we proposed a simulation approach to evaluate the aging performance of electrode seal made of fluorocarbon polymers (NEOFLON^<TM> PFA) for in-vehicle Li ion battery, and we found the features of the cross-sectional shape of the seal which can provide a good aging performance.
