Low tension piston rings and low viscosity oils are used to reduce the loss of automobile engines. However, the increase in oil consumption due to these efforts has become a problem. In this research, in order to clarify the mechanism of oil consumption around the piston ring, the oil behavior around the oil control ring is predicted by the gas-liquid two-phase flow simulation based on the sharp-interface method. The oil transport by the pressure difference between the ring groove and the piston land was observed from the calculation results. Moreover, the calculation result of oil outflow with the increase of the engine speed showed the same tendency as the experimental result.
