A critical feature of polycrystalline metal plasticity has been identified to be the growing “stress/strain fluctuations” that drive evolutionary aspects of the field in the scale, in contrast to the dislocation substructuring at intra-granular scale. The next step for us to examine would be how they are interacted and would further affect the system responses such as the Bauschinger behavior. The present article overviews the progress that the authors has promoted hitherto.
