It is confirmed from the previous experiments that a two-degree-of-freedom system, which consists of two blocks with rotating masses and a connecting element of a spring and a dashpot between two blocks, moves on a floor due to unsymmetrical characteristics of friction force. The unsymmetrical characteristics of friction force results from the centrifugal force of rotating mass driven by DC motor mounted on each block. This report investigates the effect of system parameters on the self-synchronized phenomenon and the moving performance of the system by applying the shooting method. In addition, it shows that the stick-slip motion sometimes occurs in the moving process of blocks and the self-synchronization with the stick-slip motion may improve slightly the moving performance of the system.
