Abstract
In this study, we investigate about an orthosis to guard an elderly people when he or she stumbles over by some accidents. In order to develop the orthosis, a silicon outer fence mold actuator that is driven by pneumatic energy is applied to the system. The actuator is constructed with both silicon and sponge. Therefore, it is possible to realize a soft mechanism by making use of the actuator. In this paper, the method of finite element analysis with respect to the actuator is investigated. Further, dynamic characteristics of the pneumatic element are clarified.
