In this paper, Static tensile test and split hopkinson pressure bar test was carried out in order to obtain the static and dynamic stress-strain relations of SUJ2. The experiments of direct central impact of two spheres were conducted for bearing steelballs(JIS SUJ2). In the experiment the steel balls were impacted by pendulum motion and air gun. The relation between coefficient of restitution and impact velocity was obtained from the experiments. Elasto-plastic andElasto/Visco-plastic analyses were carried out by using the finite element method(F.E.M). Then the experimental and analyticalresults were compared and they agreed well.
