When a pleasure boat is knocked against a big wave at high speed, an impact power is given to the bottom of the boat. At this time, the crews might feel a big acceleration. Moreover, the crack might be caused in the material of the bottom of the boat. Therefore, to drive the boat with high-speed and safety, the impact shock must be decreased. Then, in this research, a shock-absorbing damper, which was composed of a contact mass and a spring, was proposed. The theoretical and experimental investigations were carried out. The shock could be decreased remarkably.
