Damping properties of polymer-porous ceramics composites were discussed. Many systems in the mechanical engineering field are faced on the limitation of noise and vibration control. Vibration can not be controlled completely by mechanical methods, such as the conventional air damper, an insulator of a high polymer and computer controlled noise reduction system. High damping capacities of structural materials are required for precise vibration control. Polymer widely used as damping material has high damping capacity but low rigidity. To improve rigidity of polymer, ceramics with high rigidity and polymer were combined. The polymer-ceramics composites were made using Al_2TiO_5-MgTi_2O_5 solid solution and acrylic resin. The composites have high damping capacity(Q-1=0.03〜0.04) and high rigidity(E=50〜60GPa), and damping capacity was higher in the addition of low frequency.
