Recently, buildings tend to be higher-rise and to have larger capacity, and then vibration of an elevator car is likely to be larger. The suppression of vibration is needed and active control system has been developed for the ride comfort. For the vibration control, the dynamic characteristics of the elevator car need to be determined under the operating condition. In this study, the frequency response functions (FRFs) are measured during the operation by using actuators. The dynamic characteristics of the elevator car are modeled by a rigid body that is supported by springs. The stiffness parameters are estimated so as to minimize the errors of FRFs between the model and the actual car.
