We have already tried to reduce booming noise, which is one of the interior noise of a vehicle cabin, by using Helmholtz resonator whose throat is Origami structure to vary its length. From FEM analysis quite amount of noise level reduction was obtained. In this study several resonators are attached to appropriate positions of a cabin and large amount of noise reduction is obtained. Moreover, we investigate whether the booming noise would really reduced by an experiment. The simplified cabin model is manufactured and the resonator model whose throat is Origami structure is attached to the cabin model. Small amount of noise reduction is obtained but since Origami structure is not rigid the change of eigenfrequency of the resonator cannot be obtained by varying the length of the throat. From this result it is concluded that the throat of the resonator should be manufactured like a telescope.
