This research presents a semi-active method for vibration control of CFRP composite structures with piezoelectric transducers. Using a vibration control system that contains piezoelectrics, inductor and switch devices, vibration suppression is possible without supplying outer electric energy to the piezoelectric system. Numerical simulation and experiment of vibration control of a CFRP cantilevered beam is performed to verify the effectiveness of a semi-active method. The present control method is also compared with an active vibration control method based on LQR method.
